Product

Are your products really solid brass?

Yes. Plates are machined from 0.080" C260 brass sheet; knobs, pulls and levers are turned from solid brass bar. A magnet won't stick and a 1-gang switch weighs about 1.6 lbs.

Are the switches UL listed?

Every switch and dimmer mechanism is UL/ETL listed for 15A 125V. The file number is available on request and can be checked in the listing database. Wall plates and cabinet hardware have no electrical parts and don't require listing.

Will they fit my electrical box?

They fit standard US single-gang and multi-gang boxes, new work or old work, with standard 6-32 screw spacing. Minimum box depth is 2.25". Not sure? Email a photo of your open box.

What's the difference between single pole, 3-way and 4-way?

Single pole: one switch controls the light. 3-way: two switches control the same light. 4-way: three or more switches; you need one 4-way plus two 3-ways.

Will unlacquered brass tarnish?

Yes, on purpose. It darkens where it's touched and develops a patina over months. If you want it to stay the same, choose Aged Brass or Satin Brass.

Do the finishes match across products?

Yes. Every product in a given finish is made against the same master sample. Unlacquered pieces bought at different times will patina differently, which is normal for a living finish.

Dimmers

Will my LED bulbs work with your dimmer?

Check the LED compatibility list on the dimmer page. If your bulb isn't there, email us the model and we'll tell you or test it.

Why do some dimmers buzz or flicker with LEDs?

A mismatch between the dimmer technology and the LED driver, or a load below the dimmer's minimum. Our dimmers are tested at 10%, 50% and 100% against the bulbs on our list.

Can I use a dimmer with smart bulbs?

No. Use a smart bulb with a plain switch, or a normal dimmable bulb with our dimmer.

Do you ship outside the US?

Not yet. We ship to all 50 US states.

Do you offer quantity or trade discounts?

Can I get samples?

The finish sample set is $25. Once you've ordered it, use code SAMPLES25 on your first order over $150 and the $25 comes off.

Returns and warranty

What's your return policy?

30 days from delivery, unused and in original packaging. Installed electrical products can't be returned unless defective. No restocking fees. See our full return policy.

What if something arrives damaged or doesn't work?

Email photos within 7 days and we replace it or refund it, return shipping on us.

Is there a warranty?

One year against defects in materials and workmanship. Finish changes on unlacquered brass aren't defects.
